LOGAN, UTAH, Feb. 6 – Jim Michaels, 35, and a minor, whose name can not be released at this time, were apprehended Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007. After the hearing held today the two defendants will go to separate trials on Feb. 21, 2007. According to District Attorney Noel Mayfield, the prosecuting attorney exclaimed Mr. Michaels would be charged with Felony Burglary.
Jim Michaels appointed attorney, General Council Defense Attorney, Robbie Cochran feels Mr. Michaels “charges are fallacious.” They will go ahead with the trial on Feb. 21 and plea “not guilty” to all charges. In relation to the minor, Mr. Michaels is an acquaintance and the minor’s case will be held separate from Mr. Michaels. In court Mr. Michaels will give his side of the story.
Sheriff Deputy, Geoffrey Hasty, released that the fingerprints from the minor connected them to Michaels and the crime was similar to others committed in the area. He said, “We will continue to investigate other crimes and other charges may be brought forth.”
